Z-Helene-- Helene teaches at Austin Community College. Classes are offered during the year in two 16-week and one 11-semester and are usually held on Saturday afternoons.


 
 
   Home Classes

   Hello Dance Lovers,

   I want to let you know that I will be having two home belly dance class onWednesday nights. The first class is an intermediate level from 5:30-6:45pm.
   The second class is a beginning level class from 7:00pm to 8:15pm.


   They are $15 each or $12 each if you prepay for the month. I will prorate it if you know you will be absent ahead of time. I'm located in Northeast Austin by the 183 and 290 East intersection.

  Drum Classes

  "NEW DRUM CLASSES WITH RICK FINK

   Percussionist Rick Fink will be teaching an all levels dumbek class for three Wednesdays in November. They will be November 7, 14 and 28 (skipping Thanksgiving Eve). 7PM to 9PM. Rick will teach basic Middle Eastern rhythms with layerings and he will also share techniques for playing live for dancers. He is a fun and empowering teacher. $60 for the series or $25 per class.    This is a teacher and her students theme show and I'm one of the teachers being presented. I will be showcasing my classes of the Spring. The ACC class will perform the Tunisian Breakdown choreography I developed with original music composed for me in 1989. The fabulous girls/teenagers of The Hip Bellyettes will demonstrate how talent starts young. And my home studio adult class will perform an extended drum solo with zills, zills, zills! Rick Fink will drive us on with his powerful percussion. Should be quite a fun night!

   This is going t be quite the evening! Ararat's Restaurant, as many of you know, had to close its doors recently. They want to start back up and this event is a benefit for them. It's going to be a wonderful time with lots of belly dancers, fire spinners, great food, raffles, psychic readings and more. Festivities are very kid friendly and start at 3pm and go into the night. Come support the Ararat's comeback campaign and have a blast! BYOB

Belly dance troupes come from all over to compete in this prestigious event presided by Egyptian dance pioneer Mahmoud Reda. This is ME choreography at its best and is the show of the year in Austin.
