Z-Helene-- Helene teaches at Austin Community College. Classes are offered during the year in two 16-week and one 11-semester and are usually held on Saturday afternoons.

Hello Dancers,

I hope the New Year is going well for everyone and that you are happy and healthy. I've just returned from a lovely vacation back East and am well-rested and inspired.

The time has come to begin my Home Studio Belly Dance Series. Please note that classes start next week for my Beginning/Intermediate class ONLY. Due to other projects with deadlines, I have decided to wait until mid-February to start the Intermediate/Advanced class. I apologize for the delay and hope you will bear with me on this. 

So here's the schedule:

BEGINNING/INTERMEDIATE CLASS SERIES (8 weeks altogether)
Thursdays, 7PM, $96 for series or $15 single class
Starts January 28th and goes through March 25th. Please note that we will be SKIPPING Thursday, February 10th, due to a dance performance I am in.

In this class series, you will learn and/or deepen the fundamentals of Middle Eastern Belly Dance. Hip scarf, zills (finger cymbals) and veil suggested. We will be working on the Hadouni, Hadouni choreography from George Abdo. I will have zills for sale. Limited enrollment.



INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED CLASS SERIES (6 weeks altogether)
Wednesdays, 7PM, $72 for series or $15 single class
Starts February 17th and goes through March 24th.

Ok dancers, challenge yourself!!! Prepare to play zills at zipper speed that crack like a whip and rivet like a machine gun! We will also continue working on the modern/yoga/ belly dance fusion dance with masks that I started in the Fall. This is the dance I want to present as a showcase at the 6th Annual Mid-East Dance Choreography Project on July 31st at the Scottish Rite Temple Theatre here in Austin. So if you want to be in this super-cool dance, this class is a must. And if you don't want to perform but just want to learn some incredibly innovative ways to move with belly dance, then this class is a must. Limited enrollment.
